DeQuan Lewis
DeQuan Lewis is a Phoenix, AZ native and a dedicated choreographer and company director at Dance Connection Scottsdale. He earned his BFA in Dance from the University of Arizona, where he performed works by José Limón, Ohad Naharin, Alexei Ratmansky, Darrell Moultrie, and Tammy Dyke-Compton. After graduating, he danced with Doug Varone & Dancers (2018–2021) and was a guest artist for Andrew Winghart, Will Johnston, and Justin Giles' SoulEscape (2015–2021). In 2018, DeQuan attended Springboard Danse Montréal, where he worked with Shannon Gillen’s Vim Vigor and Mark Caserta.
With a background in performance and choreography, DeQuan’s work has been awarded and recognized on a national level. Now, he focuses on expanding his choreographic portfolio while mentoring and inspiring pre-professional dancers across the U.S. His teaching emphasizes artistry, musicality, and storytelling, with a strong foundation in strength, injury prevention, and longevity in movement.
In addition to his leadership in dance, DeQuan is a passionate group fitness instructor at Barry’s, where he merges his expertise in movement with high-energy strength and endurance training. His ability to motivate and inspire translates seamlessly from the dance floor to the fitness studio, fostering an environment where clients and dancers alike push their limits and refine their craft.
